Before the Interview
Plan ahead, allow plenty of time to get to the interview. Know location, directions and where to park, even if you have to take a “dry run” the day before.
First impressions are lasting ones. Dress professionally and conservatively.
During the Interview
- Arrive early (5-10 minutes).
- SMILE and maintain direct eye contact.
- Complete your application neatly and thoroughly.
- Be enthusiastic, but don’t talk too much. LISTEN, too.
- Try not to use the word “no” in an interview.
- Never talk against a former employer.
- Prepare yourself to answer questions.
- Whatever your impression of the interview, thank the interviewer for their time and courtesy. Let them know you want the job.
